Describe the issue clearly

Useful details include the room or fixture, age of the appliance or system, when the symptom began, whether it is constant or intermittent, visible damage, sounds or smells, and any recent work. A photo can help explain what you are seeing, but it cannot replace an on-site inspection.

Ask for a list of possible causes ranked by what can be safely observed, or a checklist of information a professional will need. Avoid asking the AI to confirm that a structure, gas line, electrical circuit or appliance is safe.

Know when to stop and get help

If you smell gas, see sparks or smoke, have standing water near electrical equipment, suspect structural movement, or notice a carbon-monoxide alarm, leave the unsafe area and contact emergency services or the appropriate utility or professional. Do not remove safety covers or work on energized wiring.

AskGeez cannot physically inspect your home, test equipment or guarantee a repair. Follow manufacturer instructions and local codes, and use licensed professionals for work that requires training, permits or specialized tools.

Keep one task focused

A useful prompt might be: “A bathroom sink drains slowly, the trap is accessible, and there is no leak. What observations can I safely make before calling a plumber?” Include what you already tried and ask the AI to state uncertainty.

Your first question is free; each later independent question or task costs one $1 credit. Clarifications and reasonable continuations of the same task do not use another credit within usage limits.
